Focus at Kennedy & Perkins Guild Opticians
Near Sighted? Far Sighted? Dry Eyes? Astigmatism? Cataracts?

Kennedy & Perkins can help. Whether you need glasses for reading, driving, working or playing, Kennedy & Perkins has a range of exceptional products that will help you see better. While there are hundreds of different types of lenses, each with both positives and negatives, the optical experts at Kennedy & Perkins only promote the best lenses for your personal optical needs.

The staff at Kennedy & Perkins are certified opticians and have the training and expertise to recommend in conjunction with your eye doctor the perfect lenses to fit your new eyeglasses. Kennedy & Perkins is the store optical lens manufacturers turn to first in Connecticut, with the newest and lightest weight lenses.

Let us help you see better than you have in ages.

No one in Connecticut has access to more high-quality optical lenses than Kennedy & Perkins. Your eyeglasses prescription is more than just a set of numbers. It is a unique, customized, set of instructions that properly dispensed will help you see better, farther, closer, and with more detail. Producing and manufacturing the right lens for your prescription should be more than just reading those numbers. It is taking into account how you wear your eyeglasses and what you will be doing with each and every pair of eyeglasses. Just like you don’t wear the same pair of shoes to golf in that you wear every day to the office, so too should the lenses in each pair of eyeglasses be uniquely fit to you, your needs and your budget.

That is why Kennedy & Perkins carries so many lenses from so many manufacturers. Some companies make a better office lens for high prescription than they do for a low. Some companies make lenses that better suit peripheral vision and therefore more sports activities than others. Some make lighter weight lenses for high-prescription that enable the wearer to use them in more lightweight and fashion-forward frames than other lens companies. Whatever your prescription or individual need, our opticians will work with you to get the perfect lenses, first time, every time. Stop into your nearest Kennedy & Perkins location today and ask us what works best for your needs!

We have a central finishing lab in our New Haven location.  We can fabricate eyewear the same day or next.  We can even add new lenses to your own frame in about an hour in most cases.

Single Vision Lenses

Working, playing, reading, driving — whatever you do, you want to look great in your new eyeglasses. More importantly, you want great vision. Kennedy & Perkins has the thinnest lightest weight single vision lenses from the major lens manufacturers to suit your personal taste.

Bifocals are two lenses in one. One part, or segment (usually the bottom), is made to adjust the eye for close focus, and the other (top) has a different strength for distant focus.

People who have difficulty seeing well four to six feet away with bifocals may need trifocals, which have a middle section to correct for midrange distance.

Progressive Lenses

Around 40, most adult start to have difficulty focusing at close range. Single vision lenses can no longer be used for the entire range of vision from near to far. Progressive lenses erase the noticeable bifocal lines and provide excellent vision near, medium and far away.

Personalized Progressives

Free-form technology creates a progressive lens by using individualized parameters. An personalized progressive incorporates patient-specific information into its design and production. The data often requested includes the prescription, vertex distance, pupillary distance, fitting height, and pantoscopic tilt. This information is “optimized” with software to design a lens that is best suited for the wearer.

While traditional lenses are created and calculated on averages, new FreeForm lenses are custom made for each wearer based on precise scientific measurements of your eyes and your prescription. These new FreeForm lenses are as unique as your fingerprint, since they are custom made just for you. Kennedy & Perkins is proud to be the first in Connecticut to provide these amazing new lenses. Kennedy & Perkins has been custom fitting personalized progressive lenses since 2003, years before most optical stores.

These new lenses provide the clearest and widest distance of any lens on the market as well as provide dramatic improvement in intermediate and near zones. Ask a Kennedy & Perkins vision specialist today about these new lenses and see what you’ve been missing.
