At Kennedy & Perkins Guild Opticians, it’s important to us that we can provide you eyewear which is uniquely suited to your needs. And while we’re proud of our distinctive eyeglasses, we also appreciate that both daily disposable and specialty contacts can be an ideal fit for a variety of different situations.
During our contact lens exams, fittings, and evaluations, our independent, board-certified optometrists will ensure that your eyes are perfectly compatible with contacts, and pair you with lenses that provide excellent vision, extreme comfort, and a truly “natural” appearance.
Our Approach to Connecticut Contact Lens Exams
Our patients trust our board-certified, independent eye doctors to provide them with industry-leading contact lens exams in a sterile and welcoming environment, and with modern medical technology. We afford our optometrists the flexibility to truly get to know our patients; we believe this is crucial to our patients getting the experience and treatment they deserve from us. Our contact lens solutions are tailored to the way you live, just as much as they are optimized to your eye shape and vision.

Eye Health & Contact Lens Prescription
Prior to your contact lens exam , we’ll complete a comprehensive eye health and vision exam. This is to evaluate the overall health of your eyes and your risk for eye diseases, to ensure that contact lenses will only improve your vision and eye health. We’ll also generate your precise contact lens prescription, which is slightly different from a typical eyeglasses prescription because of the differing distances that these lenses sit from the eye.

Contact Lens Fittings
Our contact lens fittings are a customized series of ocular measurements, lens design considerations, and eye health evaluations to help you achieve optimum vision, comfort, and eye health. We’ll take all the time you need, even if you have an unusual vision prescription and “hard-to-fit” eyes. There have been many new and exciting developments in contact lenses over the past few years that have opened a wonderful world of vision to many patients, and our licensed, board-certified eye doctors are all contact lens specialists with an unconditional commitment to finding you your perfect contacts.

Follow-Up Contact Lens Evaluations
To ensure the long-term success of your contact lenses, we’ll conduct brief appointments to clinically evaluate the success of your newly fitted, or re-fitted, contact lenses. These are included with your initial fit or refit for the first three months, as is a six-month contact lens progress evaluation. Any other appointments required for your contact lens fitting process, or a brief evaluation of any contacts you were prescribed elsewhere, may cost an additional fee. Please wear your lenses for at least two hours prior to these evaluation appointments.
In case of emergency, please notify us immediately so that evaluation and treatment can begin at once. Symptoms that require immediate attention include extreme pain, unusual light sensitivity, foreign body sensation, redness, extreme itchiness, and tearing of the eye.
